Sail Auckland - Great sailing conditions at city of sails
AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND-(7-2-2004) The 350 sailors taking part in the ISAF Grade 2, Sail Auckland today enjoyed great sailing conditions from the City of Sails.
The first race started in conditions of 12 to 15 knots south westerly meaning the wind was coming off the land.
Near the end of the first race a squall hit the fleet with winds gusting 20 to 25 knots. This brought with it a southerly change and the wind stayed in that quarter the rest of the day, although it eased to between 10 to 15 knots for the remainder of the races.
Full results are available on the event website at the address below. Racing continues for the Olympic and invited classes and concludes tomorrow.
